So conference was a blast!
I think it was even better than last year.
Amber Benson was there, which, being the Buffy freak that I am, was a fangirls dream. I am so bad at getting pictures and totally didn’t take advantage, but I did get to sit and talk to her a couple times and see a panel she did with the other Keynote speakers.
Libba Bray was there as well, and she is amazingly funny. I’ve not read anything she’s written except for random blogs, but after listening to her speak I definitely will be.
It was, all in all, exciting!
I just love making new friends and meeting people that are just as passionate about writing as I am.
The workshops – as always – were a lot of fun and informative.
I took some of craft, genre and on writing things like a synopsis and a query.
There were a lot of ideas floating around, a lot of thinking and light bulbs going off.
I think I might have a good concept for why I’m stuck on with my story. But to make these concepts work that means I’ll have to make some major changes.
Including removing a main character and an entire country.
Don’t you just love writing?
The last day of conference I started writing out a pro-con list to see if it was going to be worth it. So far the pros are outweighing the cons and I think I’m going to do it.
I just have to figure out how.
Happy writing everyone!
